Fix in place for Windows Vista ESD problems on Microsoft Store

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed and follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

Recently, some Microsoft Store customers have been reporting an issue with the ESD version of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Upgrade SP1. It turns out that some customers were unable to install the bits after downloading and were failing at the product key activation.

After doing an investigation, it turns out there was a bug introduced in one of our recent configuration changes, which caused an older version of Vista (non-SP1) to be downloaded which didn’t work with the product keys that were issued.

The good news is that we have resolved the issue by updating the configuration so no one else should run into the issue! If you have encountered this issue, the problem can be resolved by re-downloading the software using link from your Microsoft Store Account.

To be clear, this only impacted the Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Upgrade SP1. Also, this is not a bug with Vista; it was an issue on the Microsoft Store site.

We apologize to all our customers that were affected by this.  If you continue to have problems, please contact our support team and we will do everything possible to help you resolve this.
