Realizations in Beijing
Some things I’ve come to realize so far about Beijing.
- It’s cold here. Really cold. When the wind picks up it gets insanely cold. Did I mention it’s cold?
- They like to keep the office really warm, about 78 degrees which makes it necessary dress in layers otherwise you’ll sweat your life away.
- There is some irony being at an Division-wide meeting, having it run all in Mandarin, and having an Palestinian next to me translating to English.
- I love the perks at this office — fresh fruit carts roaming around and food and tea at all hands meetings. I need to figure out a way to bring this tradition back to Redmond
- Not having internet in my hotel room is making me realize that my life depends so much on it. It’s rather scary.
And to think, this is only Day 2.
