Google Fiber needs to get deployed in Seattle and finally give Comcast a run for its money.
I got this idea from Tom, but for the life of me I can’t find his previous blog post on the topic (or I’m imagining that he inspired me). Anyways, I thought it would be useful to start tracking the bandwidth I’m getting from my ISP on a yearly basis to see improvements along the way. It would have been even more useful to have started this several years ago, but here goes!

Just got an upgrade to the new 22Mbps plan on Comcast which takes advantage of their new DOCSIS 3.0 rollout. I was previously on their 16Mbps plan and was getting ~19000kbps download speeds. After connecting the new modem they gave me, I did a quick speed test:
