Trevin:
Thanks a lot. I am hoping, however, that enough people complain about it that it eventually just gets fixed. This is relatively early in the life of the Zune.

<b>Ivy:</b> For ID3 Tag editing, I'm using <a href="http://www.mediamonkey.com/" rel="nofollow">Media Monkey</a> and find it to be absolutely fantastic. I edit it in there, and then start the Zune software. After a few mins, it starts to recognize the tag changes and will update it's library.

I agree with you completely about the new rating system. I was (and pardon the slight pun) heartbroken about it. I'm coming from a wimpy 2GB iPod to the extreme of 80GB, and I was looking forward to having not only songs I LOVED, but also songs that I only sometimes felt like listening to. Why would I ever have the need to have a song I didn't like at all?

Also, on the new Zune software, I'm completely lost as to how to edit certain things. At this point, I haven't even been able to figure out how to add album art to certain albums - I guess I'll either eventually figure it out or do all my editing on WMP.

I like the appearance of the new zune software over the original ugly-brown cpu hog they released in '06. The new software is very sleek.

One thing I hate is the loss of certain features from v1 days. Some of my own recorded music may have my artist name spelled differently compared to another few tracks. With the original software I could drag one group of songs onto another group to combine them into a single item, artist, or category.

Like the guy above me said, WMP11 is a much better solution to editing ID3 tags than the Zune software is.

Few more gripes, what happened to the picture resizing (when you set a picture as a wallpaper). The original would automatically scale a picture to fit, this newest version doesn't do it. I have to settle for seeing pieces of a picture if I want a good background.

Editing song information in the Zune software doesn't mean that you Zune will get the latest information as in earlier versions. That's EXTREMELY annoying.

What the heck happened to the equalizer presets?

All of the above is more whining and complaining than anything. Once I step away from the software and plug in my headphones, the device itself makes me forget my pointless gripes. It's smart, it's simple, it's durable, it's smooth operating... I love it.
