The first wonder of Hyderabad
On my business trip last year to Hyderabad, India, I managed to squeeze in some sight seeing on the last day. Despite Hyderabad being mostly industrial with areas like Hi-tech city, there were several very cool historic monuments I got to see.
Charminar was built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah and is the most popular sight to see while in Hyderabad. Since Hyderabad is so densely populated, all the buildings are so close together exaggerating how tall Charminar actually is. On paper, it only stands 150 feet tall but it’s very impressive considering you can stand right at its base while cars zip around you on the city streets.
I took the following photo while driving as we approached and encircled the monument. I was afraid I’d get a bit of motion blur due to the exposure setting I was using, but the photographed turned out better than I could have hoped. Leaning out the window to take the photo paid off
