6 hour outage?

You gotta love it when:

  1. your blog server has a failure causing a complete outage
  2. your webhosting company fixing it but coupling the resolution with ‘regular system maintenance’
  3. them not telling you it will take over 5 hours to come back online

I love bluehost, but this was ridiculous. I discovered my blog was down yesterday at 10:30pm and their 24/7 customer support essentially told me they forgot to notifiy me. When I told the CSR that I should have been notified once an ETA was established I was told:

Okay, we’ll make note in your file for next time.

You mean that’s not standard practice?! Hmm…

  1. I’m with bluehost too. That’s strange because I think they usually overexplain every downtime?
