thx for the tip. I hate it when windows tries to take over and use their own settings instead of the application that came with the device :/

Hi, i got a sz440e..
i was wondering if it was possible to install widcomm sw, rather than the unusable toshiba stack provided by sony..
with this model, there is also the need to manually edit the .inf, adding the right VID/PID for the UGX device..
following your tutorial, i was encountering a problem, setup told me it found the driver, but something was missing..
the mandatory file was "btw_ci.dll".. :-)
users can find it over here http://www.pixel.hu/letoltes/bluetooth/BTW%201.4.2_10/btw_ci.dll

Thank you a lot for your help.. :-=
ciao,
Marco

Hi,
I have a French Sony Vaio SZ3 and when I follow your instruction to install WidComm driver, it works perfectly. However, when I restarted my computer, it still discovers an new unknown device somehow. So was wandering if you have similar problems afterwards?

thanks,
