Cesky Krumlov

Our second last day in Prague started off with a poor start.  After a late night last night taking pictures of the Charles Bridge and surrounding waterfront, we had to wake up for an early bus to Cesky Krumlov.  We had to pack up our stuff since we were also checking out of our current hostel and we had to race for the bus.  Unfortunately the bus was sold out, but we managed to buy tickets for an alternate, yet longer, route.  The total bus ride, including 1 transfer was about 3.5 hours.  Definitely not the most comfortable ride I’ve had.  Nothing Like having a few locals with the worst BO you can imagine to ruin the travel through the Czech Republic country side.

Cesky Krumlov is a wonderful little town.  Its claim to fame is that it is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  To me, this just means that it’s going to be swarming with organized tour groups.  Let me tell you, this place must have the most japanese tourists I’ve ever seen in a single city.  It’s uncanny how many of them there are.

After hostelling for the past 3.5 weeks, we decided to get a private room owned by a local business for about $22 US each. Huge room, very clean and the bathrooms are nice. No complaints here!  We spent the day walkign around the city taking photos andchecking out the Castle, which is the second largest in the Czech Republic.  Don’t ask me which is the largest because I don’t know and our guide book doesn’t tell us for some reason.  It might be the Castle in Prague that we saw, but who knows!

We’re headed back to Prague tommorow afternoon, from where we will catch a plane to London where I will spent 3 days before taking my sad flight back to Seattle.  See everyone soon!

And Craig, don’t worry, I’ll let you know if I have your guitar books at my place as my #1 priority when I get home :)
